WHAT IT IS

Surface finishing is where color, reflectivity, texture, contrast, and protection are resolved across the completed work. Depending on the project, this may involve chemical patination, heat-assisted color development, gold leaf, other gilded finishes, polishing, painted detail, mixed-material assembly, and protective coatings.

HOW WE SUPPORT THE WORK

We coordinate surface preparation, color development, gilding, painted details, material interfaces, and protection so that the finish supports the artwork rather than masking its form and texture.

Finish Development and Color Sampling

We prepare and review patina samples according to the artwork, reference images, scale, lighting, viewing distance, and installation environment, giving clients a clear basis for selecting the final color direction before full application.

Patination, Gilding, and Painted Detail

Chemical and heat-assisted patinas, gold leaf, other gilded finishes, polishing, and hand-painted details are applied selectively to develop color, contrast, reflectivity, and emphasis across different parts of the artwork.

Material Integration and Surface Protection

Where the artwork combines metal with glass, stone, paint, or other materials, we coordinate fitting, structural interfaces, transitions, touch-ups, and protective coatings so that the different surfaces read as one intentional composition.
