A public-space installation centered on a monumental sculpture inspired by an ancient Chinese astronomical instrument.
This project was developed in response to the artistic, spatial, and technical requirements of the site. The work combines sculptural form, material expression, and its relationship with the surrounding environment.
Xinjiuding participated in the production process according to the agreed scope, supporting the translation of the original concept into a completed metal artwork.
The project integrates the Jianyi sculpture with the wider layout of Solar Calendar Plaza. Its interlocking circular structures reinterpret the form of an ancient astronomical instrument at a scale suited to an open civic space.
