For three thousand years, copper has shaped the history and craftsmanship of Tongling, Anhui.
Three thousand years ago, copper-smelting furnaces were already burning on this land. Today, we continue to express ourselves through copper and bronze.
Tongling New Jiuding Copper Culture Industry Co., Ltd. is rooted in this city named for copper. For us, copper is a medium of expression, shaped by fire and given lasting meaning through craftsmanship.
Our work ranges from rings worn on the finger to monumental public sculptures weighing more than ten tonnes. We produce faithful reproductions of treasured museum artefacts as well as teapots and cups for everyday settings. We explore the full creative potential of copper and its alloys.
New Jiuding is recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a leading enterprise in the art casting sector of China’s foundry industry, an Anhui Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Training Base and an Anhui Provincial Cultural Industry Demonstration Base. Our expertise spans traditional lost-wax casting and hand chasing, as well as 3D scanning and seven-axis robotic carving. This breadth of expertise serves a consistent aim: to realize each work in the form and detail it requires.
The company’s site covers 25 mu (approximately 1.67 hectares), and our team numbers more than 100. Recognized bearers of intangible cultural heritage work alongside leading specialists from China and abroad and a predominantly young team. Our craftspeople combine 3D scanning and printing with hand carving and traditional lost-wax casting, extending the possibilities of established craft techniques.

General Manager Zheng Dongping was named in the second cohort of Anhui Provincial Masters of Arts and Crafts. He is also a recognized representative bearer of the intangible cultural heritage practice of traditional lost-wax casting. As he often says, “The true beginning comes when the wax pattern has melted away, and molten metal fills the space it leaves.”

Art at every scale.
Our projects include Chunqiu Jian at Beijing Olympic Park, the 7.5-metre-high Diting sculpture at Mount Jiuhua, and the group of athlete sculptures at Nanjing Youth Olympic Cultural Theme Park. Our work has contributed to Olympic and World Expo events, as well as to the National Museum of China.

Chen Zhang Hu
Our research into reproducing the Chen Zhang Hu, a round bronze vessel from the Warring States period, has tested the limits of our casting skills. One of Nanjing Museum’s most important holdings, the vessel combines openwork decoration of coiling dragons, a multilayered lattice structure, and gold and silver inlay. Scholars regard it as an advanced achievement of pre-Qin bronze casting. Zheng Dongping has studied its reproduction through practical investigation of the manufacturing techniques. This work has been featured by CCTV, the BBC, Anhui Television, and other media outlets. The process of studying, reproducing and understanding the vessel reflects our approach to bringing traditional craftsmanship into contemporary practice.

A shared creative world.
We have also organized two editions of the China (Tongling) International Copper Sculpture Art Exhibition. These events brought sculptors, artists and scholars from China and abroad to Tongling, turning the city into an open-air gallery. Works were displayed in public squares, on street corners and along the riverfront, allowing residents to encounter art as part of everyday life. The exhibitions encouraged people to see both Tongling and copper in a new light. They reinforced our belief that the artistic heritage of copper and bronze belongs in public spaces and daily life, as well as in museums and studios.
Explore International Programs
In 2026, New Jiuding established an International Department. For many years, our works have featured at Olympic and World Expo events, and we have exchanged knowledge with museums and academic institutions overseas. Much of this activity took place through individual projects. The new department is intended to develop those connections into sustained international relationships. We plan to organize exhibitions abroad, engage with international artists and expand academic exchanges with overseas universities, sharing China’s three-thousand-year heritage of copper and bronze craftsmanship with wider audiences through contemporary practice. Through this shared medium, we hope to build new friendships and partnerships around the world.
We create monumental public sculpture as well as small objects for the scholar’s desk. Outdoor works must withstand decades of weathering; intimate pieces must withstand repeated handling. Both demand the same careful eye, attentive to the city skyline and to details as fine as the lines of a fingertip.
At New Jiuding, we approach every scale of work with care and integrity, drawing on traditional craftsmanship while developing its future possibilities.
